Novel venture to support street children

A Kochi-based event management group is initiating a new venture in social service. The idea is to release a music album for assisting street children by raising funds for their education and further financial support.

With the ban on child labour in force, a large number of children now require rehabilitation and financial support for education. The new venture by a group of youngsters aims to raise funds for these purposes through a novel scheme.

Spartan Events and Advertisers is planning the music album for which leading singers in Malayalam are expected to sing. The concept is to put aside the profit raised from the sales of the CDs for the education and support of children under the care of Janaseva Sisubhavan.

The whole idea of the music album was conceptualised by Azlam Annur. Leading lyricist Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma will pen the lyrics. Noted music director Bijibal will compose the songs.

The team hops to rope in the leading singers of south Indian film playback including Jassie Gift, Ganga, Chitra Iyer, Devanand, Saumya, Gayathri Varma and Sayanora. Mainstream cine artists from the Malayalam film industry are also expected to associate with the project by appearing in the promotion programmes.

The organisers are hopeful of completing the project within a couple of months. The CD will be launched at a public function to be held in Kochi.
